Avoid kitchen spoon for measuring medicine dosages
People around the world are habituated of making common mistake while taking liquid medicine measured with varied sizes kitchen spoon. Studies shows that while measuring liquid medicines using kitchen spoon either leads to taking over dosages or lower than the required dosages.
In a research former cold and flu sufferers were asked to take a particular dosages of flu medicine using various sizes of kitchen spoon available with them. The observation found that they either 8% less or about 12% excess medicine depending upon the sizes of the spoon used than the prescribed dosages.
Though this 8% or 12% of low or extra dosage sounds too little to affect your prescribed dosages, but when considered at a regular interval for 10 to 12 times a day for 4 to 6 consecutive days will matter a lot.
This much excess or low dosages is enough to effect in case of serious health problems.
In lots of cases of our daily life, we need not to have any worry about a little low or little excess sugar or salt while measuring with kitchen spoon but when it comes to the measurement of medicine, we should be very responsible irrespective of dosages prescribed for child or adult.
Use spoons as properly directed by the physicians or mentioned on the medicine bottle.
